Grekov military studio; Moscow (Russia); background: The Pleven Panorama; also called Pleven Epopoe; is unique in southeastern European states. it was erected due to the 100th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria from rule of Ottoman Empire. The building was erected directly on the battlefield of 1877; on the spot of Turkish fortress Kovanluk; which was captured by fighting troops under General Skobolev during the third storm on Pleven: Architects of Pleven Panorama were Plamena Tzatcheva and Ivo Petrov. The giant paintings in the building were realized by a group of 13 Russian and Bulgairan artists. Art director of the art collective was N. W. Ovetchkin of military studio M.B. Grekov; Moscow (Russia). Start to build the Panorama was on 19th of January; 1977. Within 4 months; the painters realized all art works and the Pleven Panorama opened on 19th of December; 1977. Themes of the six paintings (each 4.00 x 3.60 m) in Hall One are: Osmanic Yoke; April Uprising 1876; Meeting in St Petersburg in defense of the Bulgarian People; Crossing of Danube by Russian army forces; The Samara banner (flag); The Battle at Schipka Pass. The huge Panorama painting (115 m x 15 m) is an artificial interpretation of the third storm to free city of Pleven. it was the most important and the most bloody battle during the six months lasting siege of Pleven; in 1877. Visitors can see the military happenings of 11th of September; 1877 (11.8.1877). Russian and Romanian army attack the city from East; Southeast and South. The central part of the Panroama shows the battle in the Southern part. Painters show the dramatic and thrilling events at the Green hills. The fighting forces under Russian General M. D. Skobeleve were in 13 000 and attacked under massive Turkish fire;
