Full Steam Ahead in Tokyo With less than 50 days to go before the opening of the Olympic Games , preparations are proceeding apace in Tokyo , and here a mobile sprayer is seen in action spraying insecticide in the grounds of the Olympic Village where foreign athletes will be housed . The village is now almost complete , and is expected to be ready for the first athletes to move in on August 31st 24th August 1964
