Woman jockey wins ladies horse race and finishes second in another against gentlemen riders . Included in the sports at Chertsey was the Ladies Plate , a race for ladies only . The race was won by Miss Stringer , who also competed in another race against gentlemen riders in which she finished second . Miss Stringer on " Rocket " on which she finished second in the Mellersh Stakes . 6 August 1923
