Missing British ship the Phemius (Master Evans) reported safe . Fears for the safety of the British Steam merchant ship ' Phemius ' which was encountered a severe hurricane in the Caribbean and for six days took a severe pounding eventually losing her funnel , of the Nicaraguan coast , have been finally dispelled by messages received by the owners Mrs Alfred Holt and Co of Liverpool . The Phemius sent out an SOS on Sunday reporting that three of her holds were filling and six United States naval craft including , three submarines , engaged in searching for her . No news was received until Tuesday when a message from her master was picked up saying that the ship and crew were safe and asking for assistance , but stating that the vessel was proceeding to Kingston, Jamaica .
