To receive royal gold medal for architecture . Mr Henry Vaughan Lanchester of Bedford Square , London , was elected by members of the Royal Institute of British Architects and his name will be submitted to the King , as a fit recipient of the Royal Gold Medal for Architecture for the year 1934 . Mr Lancaster , who is 70 , began practice as an architect at the age of 26 . His principal works are Cardiff City Hall and Law Courts , Deptford Town Hall , Wesleyan Central Hall ( Westminster ) , Council Hall , Lucknow , Leeds University , St Bartholomew ' s Hospital and Birmingham Hospital Centre .
