Before the eyes of King Carol of Romania , Prince Paul of Jugoslavia , President Benes of Czechoslovakia , 21 people were killed and over 600 were injured when grandstand holding 6000 people colapsed in Bucharest . King Carol and his guests were watching a display given by members of the National Youth Movement as part of the celebrations marking the sixth anniversary of King Carol ' s return to the trone . King Carol helped the rescue work immediately after the accident , for which the builder of the stand and five engineers have been arrested .
