Mrs Ellen Avant of Church Street , Edmonton London is celebrating her 100 birthday . Mrs Avent was born at Devonport , the daughter of a shipwright , and married a chief gunner from the Royal Navy , who died in 1900 . Mrs Avent has been bedridden since a fall four years ago . She prescibeds boiled rice every day for dinner and bread and chees and pickled onions for supper as a suitable diet for people who desire to live a century .
