Army shows how 'communications are keeping pace with mechanisation'. Demonstrating that the vital part of 'communications'is keeping pace with the mechanisation of the army, the Royal Corps of signals , gave a display on their latest apparatus at Aldershot, Hampshire. Inter communication apparatus, radio, telephon and radio and telegraphy with mechanised cable layers were included in the demonstration. Photo shows, offices, watching a demonstration of the cable laying apparatus, which automatically throws cable over any obstruction at the rate of 20 miles an hour. The apparatus, which is mounted on a truck, can also be used to recover cable. 15 February 1938
