May Queen crowned in Bedfordshire village. Kathleen Goode, and Elstow schoolgirl, was crowned. May Queen on the village green at Elstow, Bedfordshire birthplace of John Bunyan. The May Queen passed through the village on a chariot drawn by her schoolmates, with a maypole carried before her. The Coronation was carried out by last year's May Queen, Maisie Goodship.
