Anglo-American journalists poke fun at 'Cagoulards' at Paris banquet. The armed conspiracy of the Cagoulards (hooded men), recently discovered by the French government, was lampooned by members of the Anglo-American press Association at left the 31st annual banquet in Paris. The menu bore a cartoon showing reporters and cameramen in 'Ku Klux Klan'votes interviewing M Chautemps, the French Prime Minister, Sir Eric Phipps, British Amb, Mr William C. Bullitt, the US ambassador, and M. Roger Langeron, the Prefect of police. All four gentlemen were at the banquet, M Langeron being the guest of honour. Another guess was the Duke of Windsor. Photo shows, the Cagoulard newspapermen interviewing M Chautemps, Sir Eric Phipps, M Roger Langeron and Mr William C Bullitt in the menu cartoon. 7 December 1937
