Tokyo, Japan. General Earle E. Partridge (right) presents the stars of a brigadier general to Benjamin O. Davis, Jnr (left) at the Tokyo headquarters of the far east air forces of which General Partridge is commander. General Davis is the first negro officer in the United States air force to attain that rank. 2nd November 1954.
