An appealing picture which tells its own story is this snap of a doggie friend whispering words of comfort and encouragement in the ear of a young man preparing to face a parents reception to his school report card. It won first prize in the amateur class in Your Family Dog photo contest for Lou Gardner of Detroit, Michigan. The contest, sponsored by a Dog Research Centre, is part of the observance of 1949 National Dog Week.
