Heinrich Heine, German poet and essayist 1797-1856 Heinrich Heine was a big inspiration for the Danish fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen. The second time they met in Paris, Heine had read one of HCA's novels and called him "a true poet". The year of 2005 is the 200-year anniversary for Hans Christian Andersen's birth. Due to this there will be a global celebration to remember and honour the Danish author.
