At the end of his eighteen day libel action against author Leon Uris and the publishers of the book "Exodus" in the High Court yesterday, former Auschwitz horror camp Doctor Wladyslaw Dering won his case and was awarded damages of one halfpenny - the lowest coin of the realm - over passages in the book which stated that he had performed 17,000 experimental operations at the camp without the use of anaesthetics. Dr Dering claimed that he had been doing all possible to alleviate suffering among the prisoners. His costs for the case are estimated at about ?5,000 which he will have to pay. Photo shows four survivors from Auschwitz who met in London, displaying the camp markings still on their arms. Dr Brewda on the left, was one of the principal witnesses against Dr Dering during the case. 1964
