London: School children from London and the Home Counties, satchels slung over their shoulders hurried aboard the steamer "Royal Daffodil" at Tower Pier here today to commence a history lesson. Special educational river cruises were launched today at 10.30 a.m. ending at about 4.15 p.m. and thus avoiding the City rush hour. The itinerary starts at Tower bridge and the Lower Pool passing Greenwich and the Cutty Sark, a Motorworks at Dagenham and on to Gravesend and Tilbury, and Canvey Island (not landing) The point of interest and details of passing ships will be broadcast throughout the journey and on the return journey, and the children will be invited to ask questions of the ship's captain, Captain Cyril C.
