New York: Miss Bernadette Devlin 22, the independent MP for Mid Ulster, told a group of demonstrators who marched peacefully across the street from the United Nations her today, in a demand for "Human Rights" in Northern Ireland, that the British Prime Minister Mr Harold Wilson "should swallow his political pride and ask for help from the United Nations. Miss Devlin, who is on a speaking tour of the United States to raise one million dollars, (?17,000) for the relief of Catholic victims of the recent riots, had paid a call to secretary U Thant at the United Nations. She spoke with him for half an hour on the Catholic grievances in Northern Ireland. 26 August 1969
