An RAF Harrier 'jump jet' hovers over the deck of the Cunard liner had arrived here at the end other transatlantic maiden voyage 7th May 1969. The vertical take-off jet has something very much in common with the luxury passenger ship. Only two days earlier the jet had arrived in the American city after completing her first transatlantic crossing. the Harrier has been taking part in the London Daily Mail's Transatlantic Air Race. 8th May 1969
