Wilhelm von Kaulbach, famous german painter. (1805-1874). Kaulbach was a close friend of the Danish fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen. HCA often stayed with him when he was in Germany, and Kaulbach made a widely distributed illustration to HCA's story "The Angel". The year of 2005 is the 200-year anniversary for Hans Christian Andersen's birth. Due to this there will be a global celebration to remember and honour the Danish author.
