The 1929 Schneider Trophy race was held at Calshot near Southampton, England on the 6th & 7th of September and flew a course over the Solent, the stretch of sea between England and the Isle of Wight. The Calshot Course - The race was won for Great Britain by Flying Officer Henry Waghorn in a Supermarine S.6 in 39 minutes, 42 seconds at an average speed of 328mph. ?TopFoto
