Omaha Indian Chief, Chief Spotted Back, beneath an umbrella made his peaceful progress through windswept London's streets. He was born in 1890 on an Indian reservation north of Omaha in the state of Nebraska where he spent most of his life. The chief is in london with a 33 strong delegation from Nebraska at the start of a European tour to encourage trade and tourism with their state. His grandfather led a delegation of Indians to Europe in 1884 visiting Paris, Berlin and Moscow, the Omaha group being selected for this honour by the US Interior Department as a highly representative tribe of American Plains Indians 1st September 1963
