Modern society now demands that fathers take a more active part in the practical care of their children, and in consequence of this the staff of the Maternity wing at Margate Hospital in Kent have organised Preparation for Parenthood classes at which both husbands and wives attend for instruction. During the six-weeks course, Sister Mary Gavalec and her colleagues teach the husbands how to care for their pregnant wives.
