Mrs Libuse Palachova, mother of Jan Palach,the 21 year old student who burned himself to death for the idal of freedom, weeps over the coffin of her dead son, during the burial rites in Prague, 25th January 1969. Supporting hismother is her elder son Jiri. Hundreds of thousands of Czechs attended the funeral, which lasted until nightfall. 27th January 1969
