Mar Shimum ( the young Patriarch of the Assyrians who has been exiled ) is in London - he left his country when the British Government were asked to take him to a place of safety following the outbreak on the Irak frontier and the alleged massacre of Assyrians. Mar Shimum ( who received part of his education at St Augustine's College in Canterbury ) is the spiritual and temporal head of a remarkable body of Assyrians about 25,000 of whom are in Irak - he has been allowed to travel on condition that he would not put forward the trouble of his people - photo shows Mar Shimum November 29th 1933
