Owing to the return of the heatwave bathers on the Serpentine Lido in Hyde Park want an extension of the summer bathing season which usually closes about the 17th September - The Serpentine is then only open for early morning bathers but this year with summer running far beyond its usual span the bathers are sending a petition to the Office of Works asking that the Lido be kept open - photo shows an artist in bathing costume painting a picture at the Serpentine September 15th 1934
