With the thermometer registering two degrees of frost, the last swimming race of the season, for the Fahin Cups, were held in the Serpentine, Hyde Park. The Cups were afterwards presented by Mrs Jeanne Fahin, wife of the donor. This was the first time for years that a woman had braved the chill early morning to officiate.
