Hints on Association Football. The Corner Kick. Although the corner kick is dangerous, it does not produce the goals that might be expected. This is because the ball is usually imperfectly placed. The kicke should endevour to drop the ball just short of the far post and four or five yards out, just sufficiently far away from the goalkeeper to prevent him from advancing to use his hands. In kicking, the player should have his weight back and behind the ball to assist him to get it into the air, and he will help his forwards if he can make it swing slightly out towards them. Undated.
