Progress on St Lawrence Power Project. With July this year the target for first power from the St Lawrence Power Project, work is already going ahead on the installation of its generators. This recent aerial view of the powerhouse, located near Cornwall, shows Ontario Hydro's Robert H Saunders - St Lawrence Generating Station in the foreground with its United States counterpart in the background. The two powerhouses will contain 32 generators with a total installed capacity of 1,640,000 kilowatts, sixteen of the units to be in Ontario Hydro's plang. Construction of this development was started in August 1954 and is now more than 80 per cent complete. Ultimate completetion of the project is scheduled for 1960. The cars parked in the foreground proved a graphic contrast in size with the 162 ft high powerhouses. 24 January 1958
