Parnell and a Sinister Figure During the last sitting of the Commission enquiring into the letters that purport to implicate Mr Parnell in Fenian outrages , a recontre occurred outside the Law Courts between the Nationalist leader ( with Mr George Lewis ) and the so-called ' Major le Caron , ' who states that Parnell wrote the letters , and whom evidence has revealed as Mr Beecher , an ex British spy with the Fenian inner councils , both in Ireland and America . 1889
