The first of a scheduled series of protest demonstrations against the high cost of meat was staged recently in front of the First Avenue Retail Market First Avenue New York and 10th Street by 25 preambulator pushing housewives and their children. The demonstration was under the auspices of First Avenue Consumers and Tenants Council. The housewives can be seen in their picture carrying placards urging consumers to stop buying meat. 1948
