Norman Hartnell , one of Britain ' s leading fashion designers , met lovely Moira Shearer , the ballerina , at a cocktail party given by Lady Clark , wife of the former director of the National Gallery .The party , held at the Hampstead ( London ) home of Lady Clark , was attended by foreign fashion buyers , who are here for the spring showings of the London dress houses .
