Rochdale is in the throes of electioneering, and former television news reader, Oxford educated one-time lecturer at Ashridge, Ludovic Kennedy, who married a beautiful redhead Moira Shearer is aiming to win this former Tory stronghold for the 'in between' party. Up in the murky gloom of Lancashire, this glamorous pair have been putting aside all side and really getting down to the job of knowing the people. Ludovic in spite of cold and a temperature has been addressing meetings and going round the houses, stating his case. By his side always is Moira, wearing ansible clothes and shoes, and smiling sweetly chatting with her mother and her children. In between times, while Ludovic is resting or holding conferences with officials, Moira helps by addressing envelopes for propaganda material. Moira is in this political business heart and soul, admitting she has never voted Tory, but has voted Labour and Liberal. Ludovic just smiles and propounds the liberal philosophy.
