Flown from Tokyo by BOAC , visit beautiful brocaded Japanese wedding kimono , known as a Uchikake , is seen being delivered to Moira Shearer at Shepperton Studios , our Middlesex , where the ballerina is filming ' The Tales of Hoffmann ' . Handing it over is BOAC , receptionist Miss Mary Blockley of Mortlake , Surrey . The gown is a gift to Mr Shearer from Tani Momoka , Japanese prima ballerina , in recognition of her British counterparts performance in ' The Red Shoes ' . 21 July 1950
