Jim Crane, chairman of the "Youth for 'Ike'" campaign in New England, chalks in early returns from New Hampshire outlying towns in that state's primary, March 11, the nation's first preferentiall Presidential contest. The General won all 14 Delegates from Senator Robert Taft in the Republican division of the primary and Senator Estes Kefauver from Tennessee scored a surprise victory over President Truman by capturing all 12 Democratic delegates.
