Women's ice hockey is starting again. When Mrs Grace Sumner, an English international, met Miss Barbara Shields, shorthand - typist, and Ms Sylvia Walk, young hairdresser, over a cup of tea at the Steatham (London) ice rink, they decided to form a club named Streatham Felines. 24 members trained at once and divided into two teams, they are getting down to a serious practice for a series of matches planned against boys teams. A challenge from Brighton has been accepted. Picture shows: the Streatham Felines photographed during practice. 24 November 1946
