It's the cats whisker!. Recent domestic fuel cuts have set Mr Caine, of Mile End Road, thinking about the old days of 2 lo. A few pieces of wood, some wire and the essential cats whiskers soon solve the problem of listing in without streaming fuel. So the all mains set stands unused, while Mr Caine demands quiet all-round wally gets back rips with the Cats whisker and headphones. 22 February 1947
