Mr Attlee announced in the House of Commons today, that Sir Edwin Noel Plowden has accepted the post of the Government's Chief Planning Officer. Sir Edwin, who is 40 years old, was Chief Executige of the Ministry of Aircraft Production for 1945-46, and is now director of C Tennant, Sons and Co Ltd, the chemical, Iron and Steel firm.
