An echo of the days when the epic exploits of men and women of the French underground movement were the talk of the world is sounded today by the presence in London of France's most decorated woman fighter of the underground army. Quietly holidaying in the capital is 24-year-old Jeanne Duffois who was Mademoiselle Quemener, made news in November 1944, when she was pictured, pistol in hand, with other members of the Breton marquee. During her fighting career she was for three months held captive by the Gestapo and repeatedly tortured. She is in London with her ex-French fighting forces husband to visit London's bomb damage and places of interest. 23 May 1947
