'1066 and all that' via puppetry. Modern methods of teaching history with the aid of puppets were demonstrated by the Educational Puppetry Association at the exhibition, which opened today, (Wednesday), in Southampton Place, Holborn. The idea has already been adopted by one London county council school at which the children take a historical scene and dress the dolls in contemporary costumes. Other schools are expected to follow using stringed, marionettes and glove puppets. To teach such subjects as history and art. Photo shows, 12-year-old Murray Arbeid had expert instruction in the manipulation of puppets by Punch and Judy, experts Oscar Oswald (left), Secretary of the Institute of Magicians, and 'Dezoi' (extreme right). Also pictured is 'Panto Puck' London Group Organiser of the Educational Puppetry Association. 6 August 1947
