The Star Lion Tudor IV - first of Britain's long-range airliners to go into passenger service - took off London airport this morning on his first trip to Buenos Aires. The aircraft, in which 27 passengers travelling, made a night flight from Woodford, Cheshire, to London Airport last night after 25 men had worked non-stop for several days to install four 1,770 hp Merlin engines. At the controls is vice Marshal Donald "Pathfinder" Bennett, who tested the aircraft performance in a trial flight yesterday and on her way to London. The liner is a modified version of the Tudor I, the delay of whose introduction service is the subject of the an enquiry ordered by the Ministry of Supply.
