45 soldiers bound for Fayid in the Suez Canal Zone escaped when a four engine York aircraft of Scottish Airlines crashed and burst into flames on the runway at Stansted Airport, Essex, today (Wednesday). The crew of 5, including air hostess Helen Good of Harrow, Middlesex, also escaped. Only casualty was a soldier who received slight facial scratches. The plane was destroyed.
