St. Agnes Virgin and Martyr (about 305) was; according to the Latin tradition; a girl of 12/13 years old; who was martyred in Rome during the persecutions of Diocletian January 21; the day when the Church celebrates his memory. The Santa holds the palm of martyrdom and the lamb in her lap; was in fact slaughtered like a lamb after the flames of the fire that had died away it is burned for his prayers.
