Ferdinando Bocconi (1836-1908) textile entrepreneur Milan and Italian senator. In 1865; along with his brother Louis for first in Italy; he had the idea to open a shop to sell ready-made clothes. His department stores opened in the center of Milan were called 'At City of Italy'; destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1917; the writer Gabriele D'Annunzio dubbed them 'La Rinascente'.
