Phenotypic screening laboratory robot. Modular automated system being used to carry out phenotypic screening for biosciences and medical research. This system is a MicroStar robot from the HighRes Biosolutions company. This robot can be used to handle standard sizes of cell platforms and to manipulate and analyse the contents rapidly following a pre-programmed schedule. One of the applications of such robots is their use (as shown here) in developing novel stem cell and genome engineering technologies.
