Seasonal water on Mars. Satellite image of structures called lineae in Hale crater on Mars. The dark, narrow streaks, about the length of a football pitch, are thought to be formed by seasonal flow of water. These observations were made by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft. Image published in 2015.
