WATER COLOGNE commemorative plaque: 'In this house was born in 1666 John. Paul Femminis; inventor de Cologne; died in Cologne on 26/11/1736. Gift of Barbers Gim and F. Padovani '. John Paul Femminis guy even left the Vigezzo Valley; reaching Germany for praticarvi trade; first in Rheinberg and later in Mainz on the Rhine and Cologne; where he could give vent to his predisposition for medicinal and herbal infusions; opening a distillery and selling locally; among other aromas; an extraordinary 'aqua mirabilis' containing alcohol and essences fine; the formula of which had contributed valuable advice in a scroll given to him by a monaco in which the Femminis would be in relation to affectionate correspondence. For his 'aqua'; proved good antidote to several evils; the Femminis was appointed honorary member of the Chamber of Commerce of Cologne; the story of this fragrance tells of how it was produced with huge success from 1730 - 1740 by his fellow countryman Giovanni Maria Farina; who also emigrated to Cologne; it is still unclear if the recipe was developed in cooperation or just executed. Femminis died in Germany without reviewing Crana and Santa Maria Maggiore; countries that had yet remembered in life with donations and charities.
