A shady rock overhang is a popular spot with wildlife in the intense heat of an outback summer noon in Currawinya National Park, southwest Queensland. Visible are a wallaroo (Macropus robustus), mallee ringneck parrots (Barnardius barnardi), yellow-throated miners (Manorina flavigula), and pied butcherbirds (Cracticus nigrogularis).
