Short-nosed fruit bat (Cynopterus brachyotis) roosting in self-made "tent", palm leave with ribs bitten through to collapse leaf. These are the only bats that build their own tents, usually out of banana leaves. They can stay in their tents for 9 to 12 months. Fruit bats find their food by smell, and drink the fruit juices by pulping the fruit. They spit out the seeds or any other hard bits.
