Eacles Oslari is a member of the Saturniidae Family, also known as wild Silk Moths, or the Giant Silkmoth. Wing span is 4 7/16 to 5 3/4 inches. Adults are seen after the single annual emergence in July-August. They are generally found between the mountains of southern Arizona south into Sonora, Sinaloa and Chihuahua, Mexico. Eggs are laid on Mexican blue oak, Emory oak, western soapberry and others. Caterpillars are solitary feeders and at maturity they pupate underground in burrows.
