Wedge-tailed Eagle (Aquila audax), Australia's largest raptor, grows up to 1 meter in height with a wingspan of over 2 meters. It occurs Australia-wide, and can sometimes be seeing soaring on thermals at great heights. It makes a very large nest of sticks in tall trees and also on power pylons. Carrion forms a large part of its diet; the bird in this photograph is feeding on wallaby roadkill. Dimbulah, North Queensland, Australia.
