The lowland shiner, Pteronotropis stonei, was originally described in 1921 but soon considered a synonym of Pteronotropis (Notropis back then) hypselopterus, the sailfin shiner. Only recently has it been restored to full species rank. Limited to Pee Dee and Satillo River sytems, GA and SC. These were caught in the Pee Dee.
